Sir Lawrence Albert Joseph, KCN, CBE, PhD, LLM, – Knight Commander, Commander of the Order of the British Empire, PhD (University of London), LLM (University of London), Barrister at Law (Lincoln’s Inn; London), B.Sc. Econ. (University of the West Indies), was called to the Bars of England and Wales, and Grenada since 1977, after first qualifying and working as an Economist. He is a Notary Public.
A Magistrate for the early years in his legal career. He is an experienced Conveyancer, Civil and Public law Legal Advisor, and specializes in conveyancing, constitutional, administrative, land, company, banking, telecommunications, labour and industrial relations law. Sir Lawrence is currently away from the Firm having been appointed to act as Grenada’s Attorney General in 2017.
Further, he has distinguished himself in a career highlighted by public service to Grenada and has served as the President of the Senate, served as the Leader of Government Business, and Minister of Education and Labour of the Government of Grenada, was President and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Grenada and deputizes for the Governor General.
Lady Avril Anande Trotman–Joseph, LLB,LLM, is a legal practitioner since 1987,is called to Bars of Trinidad and Tobago, Guyana, Grenada and the British Virgin Islands, and specializes in Civil, Commercial, Company, Public, Land, Tourism real estate law, Conveyancing, Telecommunications and utility Regulations, Employment, Insurance, Family Law, Development and human rights law. She is a Notary Public, Registered Citizenship By Investment Local Agent and is Chairperson of the Integrity and Anti Corruption Commission of Grenada, President of the Grenada Bar Association, and Chair of the Caribbean Institute of Women in Leadership (CIWIL).
Lady Trotman-Joseph is formerly: Solicitor General of Grenada, Chairperson of the Grenada National Coalition on the Rights of the Child, Chairperson of the Adoption Board, Commissioner of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, and Board member of the Child Welfare Authority. A Founding Partner of Chapman and Trotman – Georgetown, President of the Guyana Bar Association and the Guyana Association of Women Lawyers, and the Tourism Association of Guyana. She provides consultancy services on rule of law and social justice projects nationally and regionally.
